Statement on the signing of Florida's “Don’t Say Gay or Trans” Bill (HB 1557)

In the face of the biggoted legislation that was signed into law today, DeLand Pride remains committed to our mission of providing an active and positive force for the LGBTQ+ community in Volusia County and beyond.

We will not stop fighting for the rights of LGBTQ+ students and families in our schools and our community. Within the public education system, the rights of parents should not come at the expense of the rights of students, particularly those of the most vulnerable populations.

We will continue to provide strength, hope, leadership, and love for the LGBTQ+ students in our community.
